We are excited to welcome you back into the bookshop for in-store browsing.

Due to the size of the shop, only 1 person (or 2 from the same household) will be allowed into the shop at a time. A maximum browsing window of 15 minutes will be in place to accommodate everyone. We will continue to reassess and adjust our policies as necessary to ensure we can help keep everyone safe.

We will be implementing the following rules for everyone’s safety.

1. Face masks must be worn properly (nose to chin to be covered fully) at all times while in the bookshop. Please do not pull down your mask to talk to us. We can usually hear you just fine through the mask.

2. We will greet you at the door with hand sanitizer. Gloves will also be available.

3. Only 1 customer (2 from the same family) at a time for a maximum of 15 minutes browsing until further notice.

4. Customers waiting to get into the shop should form a line on designated spots, observing physical distancing rules.  A staff member will let you know when you can come in.

5. Please browse with your eyes. If you see a book you want to look at, staff will take it off the shelf for you.

6. If you feel unwell, please stay home.

We will also have reduced in-store browsing hours. This will ensure proper cleaning can be done. Please note that curbside pick-up will remain available.

Tuesday–Friday: 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10–4

The bookshop with continue to be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

We still offer curbside pick-up and free local delivery for orders over $50 in the M8 and M9 postal codes. Please continue to call us at 416-233-2665 for book recommendations or use our online webstore to place your orders.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience. We are a small bookshop with limited staff doing the best we can to help you find your next great read!

We are still taking orders!

Social distancing pairs well with a good book or two. We are continuing to order new books from publishers, but many publishers are now delaying their new releases. We cannot guarantee arrival dates. In terms of receiving shipments, things are changing by the hour. Right now, it's looking like special orders will take several weeks to arrive. If you are willing to wait, we're happy to order the books for you! But the fastest and best way for you to get enough reading material for the next few months is to order something we already have in the store. Our website is constantly updating to accurately reflect availability and new arrivals.

Online ordering

We still have plenty of books for you. Our website has now been updated to show only the books we have in stock, updated daily. You may find it more frustrating to search for the books you want because of this — a search for a book we do not have in the store will turn up no results on the website. Think of a visit to the website like a trip to the store, where you can only browse the books we have on hand. If you do not see a title on the website that you want, we can order it for you, but again, we cannot guarantee a delivery date. Please give us a call to inquire further. Once all of this is over, our website will go back to showing everything.

Local delivery

We are offering contactless, prepaid delivery in the M8 or M9 postal codes. Free delivery within M8 or M9 areas now requires a minimum order of $50 before tax. If your order is under $50, there will be a $5 delivery charge; all proceeds will go directly to Daily Bread Food Bank in Etobicoke. Please use our online webstore or call us at (416) 233-2665 to place orders.

Effective April 1, unfortunately, we are unable to deliver to postal codes outside of M8 and M9. Sarah is working alone and cannot get to the post office regularly. If you're looking to support us, curbside pick-up is still available for all other postal codes. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but we hope you understand and thank you for your support.
